MARZANNA

“Mack,” I said, “do you ever think about death? What happens or where we go?”
“Yes,” the whisper barely escaped his lips.
“What do you think it feels like?”
“Cold. Not cold like snow, cold like fear.”
"I think it’s warm,” I disagreed.
“Warm?” He questioned.
“Like tucking yourself into bed at night and getting under cozy blankets to escape the chill."
"That doesn't sound right, Rayka."
"Life is so full of horrors, why can’t death be a comfort?”
Rayka is juggling school, a part-time job, a sick mother, and terrifying visions that make her question her sanity. Mack is new to town and desperately trying to find a new beginning away from his grief. As their lives become toxically entangled through a series of increasingly unnatural incidents, they must confront their grief and losses head on if they want to survive.“When you grieve, you worship me. When you kill, you worship me. When you die, you worship me.”
- Marzanna 1:1-3
